  i was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.

  i have hated every moment of it.

  after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.

  Welcome to the board Sweetface. What you are going through is a perfect example of how the Watchtower keeps people in their organization. A lot of people stay because they don't want to go through the situation you are in right now. As Gopher said to them the organization equals Jehovah so if you say something is wrong with the organization to them you are attacking God. They would see this as idolatry in any other religious group but are completely blind when it comes to the Watchtower. The Watchtower has pounded it in their heads that people don't leave for good reasons. They leave because they want to sleep around, do drugs or just leave "Jehovah's" council and do whatever they like. If you leave to become a Vegas stripper or leave to help the homeless it is all the same thing in their eyes. You have left the "truth" so you must be up to no good. They expect your life to fall apart and will be shocked when it doesn't.

  Hopefully in time your sister will come to see some of the problems with the Watchtower and I'm sure you will be there for her if that happens. In the mean time I hope you will stick around this board. You will find lots of people here who are going through the same situation you are or have been through it.

  my non-jw son just called from another state.

  i asked him if he's attending any fireworks display tomorrow in observance of our nation's birthday.

  he laughed, knowing that i was digging the lack of birthday celebrations amongst jw's.

  There are a lot of witness that will watch football, basketball, hockey and other sports yet will tell you that it would be wrong for a witness to play the sport. I think watching fireworks on the fourth falls into a similar category of hypocrisy.

  Lung Cancer's Toll

  dear friends,.

  i heard on the news that one of our brightest stars - beverly sills - died last night of lung cancer.

  she was a brilliant singer as well as a wonderful human being.

  I quit!

  My sister-in-law a JW died from lung cancer in February. She never smoke and wasn't around smokers. Her grandfather smoked for as least 70 years and only died at 89 as a result of an accident. I've heard that lung cancer is going up among non-smoking women. I guess what I am trying to say that if you blame the entire problem on smoking or second had smoke you may be missing something that is a major factor in the disease.

  They have been teaching this crap forever. All I can say is that if you are a Jehovah's Witness the next time you need to go to the doctor or need a pair of glasses be thankful that someone had the sense not to listen to thes wise men.

  WBTS 1914 IS JESUS SECOND COMING !!!

  mark this!in 2007 watchtower still say's 1914 jesus second coming who are the jehovahs witnesses?regular people and not part of a cult.

  people who want others to know about god and the bible.

  believers that these are the last days before armageddon and that it is urgent for people to develop a relationship with god.

  I think they would love to get rid of 1914 but don't know how to do it. As has been pointed out not only do they claim Christ came back in 1914 but also that he hung around a while looking at all the Christian religions and for some odd reason chose them. Their whole authority as the one true religion is based on Christ returning at that time and choosing them. If he didn't come back at that time then he didn't select them at that time so why listen to them?

  They did sneak away from 1914 generation that wouldn't pass away thing so with a little effort they might come up with the right lie to make 1914 go away. At least for those who still want to put all their faith in a flawed organization.

  i get emails like this all the time.

  some jw gets upset at the stuff on my site, and wanting to add more weight/shock value to what they say, they either mention in passing that they are "not one of jehovah's witnesses" or are a child.

  this one claims to be a 13-yr old girl!

  When I first started going online in AOL chatrooms years ago I was amazed at how JWs online would outright lie to make their beliefs to make them seem more apealling. They'd lie about shunning, not being allowed to get an education, timing keeping, false prophecies, etc... If it painted them in a bad light they'd lie about it. Not all of them but a large percentage.

  This site is BAD for me!!!

  it's making me want to rush the convincing of my wife - i want confrontation now, and i want it to go good, and i want her out with me!

  how can you folks do this to me... before starting on this site i was just trying to get by myself w/ my decision - see what you've done!!!!

  now i'm convinced i have to talk to her and make her see what i see!!

  Take it slow. Remember that there was a time when you thought it was the truth and facts would just bounce off your belief in the Watchtower. Everyone awakens in their own time if they ever do. I agree with Apoztate. I have been in the same situation for about the same length of time as him. If you love your wife you need to realize that she has the right to believe what she wants. Also you can't force someone to be what you want them to be. Anyway best of luck. I hope she comes out.

  I think we need to keep in mind that people weren't running out to purchase the Truth Book or Mao's little red book like they did the Harry Potter series Mao's book was force on the population of China. The Truth was accepted by people mostly because it was free or if it was paid for I think it cost twenty-five cents. It was a cheap way to get a pesky witness who was invading your space off your door step.

  Also if we are looking at statistics lets see where the Watchtower stands with false prophecies. I think they would be at the top or near it of religions to make so many false predictions and survive.

  Teleportation - It exists! Where will you go ?

  teleportation has been invented and proven to work and be safe.

  no leaving of limbs in one town while you go to another.

  what is more the governments are cracking down on vehicle travel to help slow down climate change.

  I don't have any big plans so I think I would just go to Santa Fe, NM for lunch. Once a week would be nice.
